The awards, which are voted for by Empire readers, will take place on Sunday March 13 at London's Guildhall, and Five will show highlights two days later at 10.55pm.
Capital Radio breakfast show host Vaughan has a long-running film review column in The Sun every Friday and is known as something of a Western fan, listing his favourite movies as John Ford/John Wayne classics 'The Searchers' and 'The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance'.
Sham Sandhu, Five's controller of youth and music, said: "I'm excited to be working with Empire to broadcast these prestigious awards, which are one of the highlights of the film calendar. This consolidates the channel's growing commitment to showing the best movie-related programming."
Sony Ericsson has been retained as event sponsor for the third year running, in a deal brokered by MEC:Sponsorship with Emap Advertising.
Colin Kennedy, editor of Empire, said: "Throughout his career, both on television and radio, it's been clear that Johnny places enormous value on the opinion of the ordinary punter, which makes him the perfect host for the UK's only movie awards to be voted for by the general public."
Empire recorded an ABC circulation figure of 205,587 for July-December 2004, its highest to date and 7.8% up year-on-year.
