EMI hires Yahoo!'s Gunning

LONDON - Simon Gunning, director of entertainment at Yahoo!, is set to leave the company to join EMI's digital department.

EMI today confirmed Gunning's hire, although the music company did not confirm the position Gunning will assume when he starts at the firm.
Gunning spent over a year at Yahoo!, having previously been director of interactive media at Celador International. He joined Celador International in 2004 from Flextech TV, which has since become Virgin Media Television.
Yahoo!'s chairman Terry Semel was last month replaced by co-founder Jerry Yang. Semel resigned, prompting Yang taking over the position. The shake-up also saw Susan Decker, former chief financial officer at Yahoo!, take over as president.
