Its current head of database marketing is leaving the company in February and the role is being boosted to include CRM expertise.
The successful candidate, will report to Susanna Kempe, the chief marketing officer of Emap Networks.
The key initial task for the person appointed will be to merge data from across Emap business titles into a single marketing database and oversee the use of a new sales automation tool.
"It's about making the database as efficient and seamless as possible so that we have a single customer view of people who are currently buying from us and who could buy from us," Kempe said. "We're taking the opportunity to bring in a CRM specialist who knows about database marketing, sales automation and most importantly, web 2.0."
The new head of CRM will also manage data acquisition, list building and ensure data compliance.
