Emap promotes two to lead men's magazines initiative

LONDON – Emap Advertising has made two senior sales appointments intended to drive its men's magazine portfolio, which includes FHM and Zoo, with Ross Webster named head of men's magazines and Claudette Laws as head of men's creative solutions.

The appointments follow the launch of the First for Men club in late 2004, an initiative designed to harness the collective power of Emap's men's magazine portfolio for advertisers targeting male consumers.

Webster and Laws have been promoted from within Emap. Webster has seven years' experience at Emap Advertising working across the youth and women's markets.

Laws has spent 18 months at Emap as account director of the men's creative solutions team. She has previously worked for Ministry of Sound and Radio Times.

Webster will report into Jason Trout, Emap Advertising deputy sales director.

Carrie Barker, Emap Advertising magazines sales director, said: "Creativity is a key focus for our clients and we intend to lead the market in 2005 by boosting powerful initiatives such as First for Men club."
