Emap creates digital director roles

LONDON - Emap is looking to appoint digital directors to develop multimedia strategies for its radio, specialist and lifestyle divisions.

The three directors taking up the new roles will lead digital teams in each of the businesses, create digital strategies and deliver profit and loss digital targets for each area.

They will also lead group-wide strategic initiatives across the business and generate further areas of investment, including internal projects and acquisitions.

Once appointed, they will report to Dharmash Mistry, managing director of Emap Performance (pictured).

The new roles were announced during Emap's consultation with staff across the company about its latest restructure, which involves scrapping the role of publisher and job losses across the magazine division.

Emap aims to double digital revenues over the three years to the end of 2008 for digital launches and acquisitions.

Recent activity has included the purchase of mobile services firm Yospace and the introduction of video-on-demand and IPTV services on empireonline.com, mcnbikedownloads.com and TGgolfdownloads.com.

Last month, Bruce Daisley, head of agency sales for its radio division, took over the role of digital sales director.
