A report by internet marketing research company E-consultancy predicts that the total revenue of email marketing suppliers will grow 25% from 拢120m in 2004 to 拢148m in 2005.
E-consultancy says that clients across different sectors are increasing spending on email marketing, from the retail to financial services and media industries.
On the supplier side, as basic email delivery becomes increasingly commoditised, companies are adding services such as strategy development, copywriting and branding. E-consultancy also expects there to be an increase in mergers and acquisitions among suppliers.
The report includes individual profiles of 14 suppliers, as well as a buyer's guide to email marketing.
Ashley Friedlein, E-consultancy's chief executive, said: "There has never been a better time to outsource your email requirements -- costs have been substantially reduced and there are a range of pricing models to suit."
