
The nine-day eco car exhibition ran alongside Grand Designs Live at London’s Excel earlier this month. It attracted 57,909 attendees.
Last year’s event at Battersea Power Station attracted 8,700 – than then-organisers Metro newspapers and International Green Motor Events (IGME) expected.
Media 10 , after it bought IGME.
Giles Brown, managing director of Ecovelocity, said: "We are delighted to report that running the shows side by side has worked well, with both events benefitting from new audience visitors."
He said the partnership aims to capitalise on the growing public trend towards a low carbon, more sustainable lifestyle.
"Not only did we witness a growing level of interest from EcoVelocity-specific visitors, but also found that visitors to Grand Designs were keen to discover more about low carbon vehicles and how they could fit into their wider eco-living aspirations," he added.
Lee Newton, managing director of Media 10, said: "We are thrilled with the success of Ecovelocity in its first year under the Media 10 umbrella. We see the future for Ecovelocity as involving not just cars but all forms of transport and this first outing for us could not have provided a more successful platform to explore these routes."
