Organisers plan to offset the carbon emissions from the event, taking place at Excel London from 10-13 May, by supporting a hydro-electric project in India through a partnership with carbon management company Carbon Neutral Investments (CNI).
The exhibition showcases the latest low carbon and zero emissions vehicles, as well as giving visitors a hands-on test drive on a 3.5-mile route.
James Brown, co-chairman at CNI said: "EcoVelocity has taken the position as the UK’s major motoring show and, with all the exhibitors boasting impressive low emissions in their automotive products, it's important that the organisers can demonstrate the same values.
"We're delighted to support EcoVelocity by offsetting the carbon emissions of the show, and also of all the visitors' travel to and from Excel over the four days - making it the UK's first carbon neutral car show."
For the first time this year, the show will run alongside Grand Designs Live, with visitors able to access both events with one ticket.
