Ebiquita launches online data cleaning product to SMEs

LONDON - Marketing service company Ebiquita has launched a six-step online database cleansing service to help SMEs keep their customer and prospect lists up to date.

The service is part of Ebiquita's online service and is designed for use on databases of up to 110,000 records.

The system accepts databases supplied in most formats and, if the information is not located in one place, Ebiquita can collate it into a single file, which can be analysed free of charge. A report is then produced detailing how clean and up to date it is, and customers can opt to screen it against any of 15 suppression files.

Ebiquita commercial and marketing director Andy Taylor said: "As the data has already been audited, cleaning is virtually instant. All the client has to do after that is decide which format they want to receive the database back in."

The suppression files available include the Postcode Address File, a list of UK address to which mail is delivered; the National Change of Address File, which contains more than 11m records of new and old addresses; and a combined deceased register Mortascreen.

"The whole process can be completed quickly using any standard internet browser interface and is highly cost effective. It gives SMEs access to data processing power that they simply could not have dreamed about only a few years ago," Taylor added.
