EastEnders star encourages fellow cast members to Twitter

LONDON - Twitter fan Adam Woodyatt, the 'EastEnders' star, is encouraging fellow stars on the BBC soap to join the micro-blogging service by naming and shaming them on his Twitter page.

Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale on the show, took photos of several of the soap actors holding up a sign saying "I'm not on Twitter" and then posted the images online.

Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning, Cliff Parisi, who plays Minty Peterson, Scott Maslen, who plays Jack Branning, Samantha Janus, who plays Ronnie Mitchell, and Ricky Groves, who plays Garry Hobbs, have all featured holding the signs on .

The actors have now reportedly been bombarded with emails from fans demanding they join the social networking site.

Woodyatt, who currently has over 9,800 followers, is one of many UK celebrities blogging on Twitter. These include 'Monty Python' actor , who has almost 124,000 followers, TV presenter , who has almost 180,000, and comedian , who has over 360,000.

Separately, a British man has travelled all the way to New Zealand for free thanks to Twitter.
