EA Sports targets Facebook users with Grand Slam Tennis campaign

EA Sports today launched a global Grand Slam Tennis interactive Facebook application.

EA Sports targets Facebook users with Grand Slam Tennis campaign

Created by Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam to support the first new EA Sports title in ten years, EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis, the Facebook game acts as a sneak peek into the full game.

Facebook friends can share the game and generate interest in the title throughout the Facebook community.

The premise of the game is based on a version of 'rock, paper, scissors'. People choose a series of three shots from an arsenal including 'Lob, Slam or Drop Shot' and then challenge their opponent to a succession of three shot volleys which determines who wins the match.

Players have the option to select their online Pro Tennis avatar from current pros and past legends such as Boris Becker, Andy Murray Roger Federer, Venus Williams, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and John McEnroe, and then personalize their avatar, for example: Jamie 'The Destroyer' Kim or Jeremy 'The Killer' Jones.
