Dr Who shunned as web users vote for A-Team's return

LONDON - Viewers are yearning for BA Baracus and his fellow 'A-Team' Vietnam vets to return to our screens, according to a survey by Yahoo!.

Users of the search engine were asked which old favourite television shows they would like to see make a return to prime time, and 'The A-Team' was the clear favourite with 48% of the vote.

The early 80s soldiers of fortune were followed by the 'Dukes of Hazzard' with 18%, 'Monkey' on 10%, and 'Knight Rider' on 10%.

The top 10 shows, which the 1,000 nostalgic voters would like to see returning to Saturday night TV, also included 'Dallas', 'Miami Vice', 'Minder', 'Dempsey and Makepeace', and 'CHiPs'.

Other shows such as 'Magnum PI' received less than 1% and failed to make the list.

The BBC's 'Doctor Who', which is finally being revived after being off the air for almost 15 years, gained only 1% of the vote.

Frazer Lee, lead surfer at Yahoo! Search, said: "With so many possible TV revivals, along with the axing of a number of current shows, we wanted to find out who people would really like to see on their screens again."

He added: "Over the past month alone, searches for the A-Team have gone up by 130% and searches for Dr Who have increased by 115%. We're all obviously kids at heart because children's shows seem to be the most popular choice for remakes."
