The email marketing division of DoubleClick will join the Alliance Data Systems Corporation's direct marketing arm Epsilon and effectively merge with Epsilon Interactive to represent almost 560 blue-chip brands across the financial services, travel, retail, consumer product goods and media/publishing sectors.
With the integration of DoubleClick Email's capabilities and employees, Epsilon Interactive will become one of the biggest email marketing outfits in the US.
Epsilon's intent to acquire DoubleClick was previously announced by Alliance Data on February 14.
Mike Iaccarino, president of Epsilon, said: "The acquisition of DoubleClick Email Solutions reinforces the excitement we have for the email communications business."
Al DiGuido, president of Epsilon Interactive, said: "There is little doubt that relevant and timely email communications are becoming ever more central to the development of successful integrated marketing programmes that build and accelerate long-term profitable customer relationships."
DoubleClick Email Solutions, which has an annual revenue of $40m, has clients including Unilever, CondeNet and AOL.
