Dogs Trust looks to 141 for greyhound appeal

LONDON - 141 Worldwide/London has created an autumn direct mail campaign for the Dogs Trust to help care for greyhounds after their racing careers are over.

The campaign aims to secure donations to provide the special care and training needed to help greyhounds make the transition from working life to home life.

The mailer is targeted at warm donors from the database and features the stories of several greyhounds that are unwanted or abandoned, despite having given their all on the racetrack.

The mailer uses racing bib numbers as a motif to communicate key facts and figures to encourage dog lovers to choose from a number of different donation options.

The campaign also aims to dispel the myth that greyhounds are shy creatures that make boring pets who need lots of exercise, by using images that show them as happy, fun, beautiful and loving animals.

Phil White, business director of , said: "Once again the dogs are the stars of the campaign. The mailer shows what a really healthy, happy greyhound can look like and how much they can enjoy life with the care and training that the Dogs Trust can deliver through the help of donations."

Adrian Burder, marketing director at Dogs Trust, said: "We want readers to be moved by the stories of abandonment and stirred to make a donation to help provide the means for the Dogs Trust to continue its support."
