DMA runs e-learning initiative with legislative focus

LONDON – The DMA is launching a new online learning initiative to promote industry best practice and raise awareness of the legislative landscape.

The first in a series of e-learning programmes will focus on the new Privacy and Electronic Communications regulations 2003, which govern email and SMS marketing.

The masterclass has been developed in conjunction with e-learning specialists Knowledge= Power. The interactive distance learning course has been designed to ensure that people understand the principles surrounding the new guidelines and stay within the law. At the end of the course, users can print off a certificate to demonstrate that they have passed the training programme.

Mike Barnes, DMA director of marketing and business development, said: "Email marketing is now an extremely significant marketing tool and use of the medium has increased significantly over the years. However, there is a stark need to effectively communicate the impact and detail of these new regulations and this online masterclass will play a vital role in this education process."

The masterclass can be previewed at .
