Only available in the US at the moment, carousel ads allow brands to post multiple photos on a sponsored post, rather than the usual single shot. A "learn more" button links to a brand’s site.

However, have Instagram really offered up a compelling product for brands? Commenting on , Gideon Lask, chief executive and founder of Buyapowa, writes that . "Instagram is still thinking foremost like an ad network," Lask writes, "seeking to better monetise impressions rather than really leveraging the unique characteristics of social to benefit brands."

That's clever: Be the DJ for Hiut's factory floor

Does your office play music? Is someone in charge of it? Or is there a communal playlist? Please don't tell us you listen to commercial radio. Perhaps you let any Tom, Dick or Harry on Twitter choose what you listen to?

That last option is the new direction taken by denim brand Hiut, who's opened up the music policy at its factory in Wales. Creative tech agency Knit built a smart radio that will play requests from Tweeps.

It's an interesting idea to connect consumers with the people who make the jeans, and we're very pleased there's a skip button for the staff. You can follow what's been and being played on . Up till now, it's only been used by friends and family of the brands – and it appears they're fans of Dancing Queen by Abba, in case you were wondering what to play.

If we could make one suggestion, it's for a webcam on the shop floor – and the occasional choreographed dance number by the staff. It would be one hell of an Easter egg.
