The DSG International-owned brand has created a sponsored Facebook page providing consumers with reviews and videos of its latest products, as well as exclusive competitions and discounts.
The branded social networking group features a photo album showcasing ‘this week's hot products', alongside discussion boards on topics including ‘what is top of your gadget wish list?'
Richard Clark, marketing manager at DSG International, told delegates at this week's Revolution Forum that the branded Facebook group would be promoted via a mix of email marketing and online advertising.
Dixons is the latest in a long line of brands to launch on Facebook, which is planning its first major makeover since its launch in 2004 in an effort to make the site simpler and more relevant to users.
DSGi is planning to boost its £2.5m digital and direct marketing spend in a bid to reinvigorate sales across its Currys, Currys.digital and PC World stores.
The electronics retailer recently appointed Publicis Dialog and Publicis Modem to its agency roster, bringing them alongside M&C Saatchi, Walker Media and Play London.
