LoveFilm already rents all Disney films on DVD and Blu-ray via its postal service, but from today subscribers will be able to watch up to fifty of its titles over the year across PCs, internet-connected TVs and Sony PlayStation 3 games consoles.
Members who pay more than £5.99 a month for a subscription will be able to stream a selection of titles from its library, including 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks', 'Dead Poets Society', 'Armageddon' and 'The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy'.
For an additional cost, subscribers can view its premium titles as part of its transactional video on demand service – 'Tron: Legacy' and 'You Again' are currently available for £3.49.
More titles will be offered to rent online in due course. 'I am Number Four' and 'Tempest' will become available in June.

LoveFilm, which launched in 2002 as a postal DVD rental service, claims to have more than 1.6 million members in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
It considers itself to be "platform promiscuous", and has pinpointed digital as a key area for growth. Its "download to own" service launched in April 2006.
