Disney Channel is to launch three new channels on the SkyDigital platform, in an effort to expand its audience base.

The new channels will be available at no extra charge on top of the existing Disney Channel service. Playhouse Disney will be aimed specifically at pre-school children and will air for 15-hours a day.

Toon Disney will broadcast 24-hours a day and focus on family entertainment, featuring Disney animation as well as documentaries going behind the scenes at Disney. Disney Channel +1 will feature the same content as the core channel, aired one hour later on a time-shifted basis.
