Digital Marketing Group aquires Cybercom and Gasbox

LONDON - Digital direct marketing agency Digital Marketing Group (DMG) has acquired Cybercom Group UK and Gasbox.

The agency has paid £7m for the deal and will spend a further £12m based on performance over the next 18 months.

Cybercom, an ecommerce specialist, will join DMG’s online media and marketing business segment. Gasbox, a telemarketing specialist, will be part of DMG’s direct marketing segment.

Ben Langdon, Digital Marketing Group’s chief executive, said: "E-commerce represents a substantial growth opportunity and the acquisition of Cybercom strengthens our position to capitalise on it.

"Gasbox will give DMG a new route to deliver and leverage our Digital Brain product. Gasbox’s track record at working with the Group confirms the opportunity to be gained from bringing the companies together.

Gasbox provides a tailored call centre service based on customer data managed by DMG company Jaywing. The company was launched in 2006 by ex Egg chief executive Paul Gratton, along with Andy Gardner and Martin Boddy, founders and current managers of Jaywing. It recently won a Marketing Direct Connect Award.

Cybercom's clients include IBM, John Lewis Partnership, Kickers, Lloyds TSB, Speedo, Thomson Reuters, Tomy and Waitrose.
