Diageo highlights responsible drinking with new site

LONDON - Drinks company Diageo has launched a global website to promote responsible drinking.

includes facts about alcohol, a resource centre, an area designed to promote Diageo and responsible drinking, a collection of case studies showcasing Diageo's responsible drinking initiatives and links to relevant organisations.

It will also feature an online community and a so-called 'responsibility channel', where visitors can share information they have found to be effective in addressing alcohol-related issues.

Other elements include videos of experts and information on how to host an event or party responsibly.

In Britain, the new site will complement an existing website from the Drinkaware Trust , which Diageo supports.

Diageo owns brands such as Smirnoff, Gordon's and Bell's and features the drinkaware.co.uk address on its packaging.

Benet Slay, managing director of Diageo Great Britain, said: "There are many valuable initiatives that exist to address the issue of alcohol misuse, and DrinkiQ.com supports these efforts by showcasing them to the community and connecting them with like-minded individuals and groups."
