Designer Wayne Hemingway voiced his disappointment at the festival scene as he unveiled "Vintage at Goodwood", a fashion-focused music event which will debut songstress Lily Allen's clothing range.

The festival, which will take place at Goodwood in West Sussex from 13-15 August, was founded by Red or Dead fashion guru Wayne Hemingway as an attempt to bring "glamour" to the outdoor music scene.

"In the last two decades of attending a myriad of festivals, I've been consistently underwhelmed by the lack of glamour, by the locations, by the scattergun approach to booking and scheduling and overall by the lack of attention to detail which has sadly not only become the standard but accepted as such," said Hemingway.

"We have carefully curated a celebratory festival in complete contrast to this staid status quo, that re-unites music, fashion and culture; that is unashamedly about dressing up rather than down and being comfortable rather than compromised."

He went on to liken the event's spirit to the Festival of Britain, a landmark creative gathering which took place in 1951.

In addition to Lily Allen's 'Lucy in Disguise' fashion label unveiling, acts billed to perform include Sandie Shaw, Heaven 17, Aswad, Buzzcocks and The Damned.

A roller disco and DJs Graeme Park and Norman Jay will also feature.

The festival is produced by Hemingway in partnership with Goodwood estate owner Lord March.
