Database Group establishes financial services unit

LONDON - Database Group has set up a dedicated financial services division in response to the worsening economic climate.

The new financial services team, headed by former Barclaycard and Legal & General Bank director Alaric Chuchill, will work to boost the value of data for clients to create increased marketing opportunity and sustained return on investment as the credit crunch begins to impact on all businesses.

The financial services unit is based at Database Group's head office in Bristol and will offer data-led marketing services to blue chip and financial services clients.

Churchill, who has been appointed as business development director, has experience of the challenges facing marketers in the sector, at Legal & General Bank, where he managed mortgages and lending for over two years, and at Barclays consumer finance, where he was responsible for direct marketing campaigns across six brands.

Churchill said: "The current financial credit crunch offers data suppliers the greatest opportunity in the past 20 years. Customer insight has never been more keenly needed and it is precisely here where data suppliers can lead through this reversal in the market."

Richard Lees, chairman of Database Group, said: "As a company, we have undergone enormous growth in the past 24 months and the establishment of our new financial services unit is another specialised offering from us, delivered at a time that it can make a difference."
