
As well as boosting the number of news stories carried online, has improved its layout and navigation tools while also introducing a new tagging system that makes it easier to find articles.
The new site, which went online this morning, also features more multimedia applications - including video and audio clips, image galleries, podcasts and blogs.
Users will be able to interact with the site by contributing stories, photos and audio files as well as voting on issues and rating articles out of five stars.
Editor Bruce Waddell said: “This is just the beginning of a new phase in the history of the Daily Record. This revamp enables us to deliver an even better service to our online audience. Our videos, podcasts and forums are already proving hugely popular.”
