Users can test and compare products from over 60 beauty brands including Avon, L'Oreal and Mac.
Women are also able to adjust the placement and coverage levels of the makeup, to give a more realistic preview of what the product will look like when they apply it in their usual way.
The site gives users an in-depth ability to review products and its ecommerce patform which will allow users to purchase the products is currently in beta. Users are also encouraged to share their makeovers with friends on Facebook and MySpace to solicit advice from friends before purchasing elsewhere.
More brands are making use of facial recognition software as it continues to improve and more users have access to webcams. In June Glasses Direct launched an augmented reality app which lets users try on multiple pairs of glasses and see how they look from different angles.
