She was responsible for the development of the insurance brand’s marketing strategy before being appointed managing director of Bennetts in 2005. Prior that she had a number of strategic marketing roles including Ernst & Young, Madrid; Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce and Northcliffe Publishing.
Comparethemarket.com is expected to spend £65 million on marketing and website initiatives, according to Matthew Donaldson, group director at BGL Group. “Following its launch last year, substantial investment has been made into comparethemarket.com,” he said. “Samra’s marketing expertise will be critical to its success and she brings considerable general management skills which have been clearly demonstrated in her leadership of Bennetts over the past two years.”
The BGL Group launched in 1992, and launched comparethemarket.com in 2006. It launched ibuyeco, a new brand of carbon-neutral car insurance, this year.
