Coca-Cola to place calorie information on all products globally

ATLANTA - Coca-Cola says that by the end of 2011, it will display on the front of all its products how many calories each serving contains.

The company has already added front-of-pack energy labelling throughout Europe and Australia, with Mexico and the US currently in roll-out phase.

The forthcoming labelling is intended to increase consumer awareness of the calorie content of its beverages.

claims to be the first company in the beverage industry to make a commitment such as this.

According to Coca-Cola, research has shown that ‘front-of-pack energy information is an important tool in helping people balance their overall dietary intake and physical activity'.

In the US, labelling information is placed on ‘at-a-glace' nutritional fact panels alongside Coca-Cola soft drinks.
