He will report to the managing director Graeme Hartop, and will be responsible for developing the marketing strategy for the bank.
Clark has gained more than 13 years of experience in financial services in a number of senior roles, including marketing controller for Tesco Motor Insurance and product manager for Halifax Personal Loans.
Hartop said: "Scottish Widows Bank has been commended in recent years for its product innovation and in developing competitive propositions for the marketplace that have astutely complimented the offerings from the wider Lloyds TSB group. This is a pivotal role within the company and Richard's skills, experience and fresh outlook will help to deliver further enhancements to our product offering and drive future success."
Clark said: "Scottish Widows Bank has consistently been at the cutting edge of product development, leading the way in a number of niche markets. I am looking forward to the challenges that the role will present and I hope to contribute to the continuing success of the bank."
Clark replaces Murdo McHardy, who left Scottish Widows Bank to join online banking firm Intelligent Finance in October.
