The car manufacturer has contacted a number of digital agencies through the Peugeot Citroen procurement department and asked them to submit tenders for the account.
Citroen has used various agencies to produce online advertising in the past, including Global Beach, which has produced an online dealer programme including a website and used-car locator service. The car-maker's above-the-line business is handled by Euro RSCG, which created last year's Citroen C3 "Happy Days" ad.
Citroen is also looking to appoint a direct marketing agency through Creative Brief.
