The show is being made by ITV Productions and will run in a prime-time slot, starting late this spring. Challenge has commissioned 30 hour-long episodes.
Contestants won't have to answer questions to win the gameshow. Instead, they will have to predict whether or not a group of five celebrities have correctly answered questions. Thirty-two celebrities have been lined up to appear, including Michael Buerk, who will answer questions about current affairs; Frederick Forsythe, whose expertise is history; and Toby Young, on film.
The amount of money on offer increases by moving up to different levels and playing for higher stakes. Kevin Ball came up with the format, and it was commissioned by Rebecca Johnson, senior commissioning editor for Challenge.
Daniela Neumann, acting director of programming at Challenge, said: "We are very excited to be working with Chris Tarrant. 'It's Not What You Know' combines the ultimate gameshow host on the ultimate gameshow channel to truly create a winning formula."
Tarrant is still tied in to host 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?', which has been recommissioned by ITV for another series, running into 2009.
