Grindle, 28, and Thomason, 27, met through Nabs’ Lonely Hearts Book Club. Grindle had previously spent a year at CHI & Partners in account management before attending the Watford course for creatives. Thomason’s first job was at McCann after studying at the University of Central Lancashire.

Since joining forces, the pair have been responsible for coining the term "Games Makers" for London 2012 and created the poster campaign to sell tickets for the Paralympic Games, which received a D&AD nomination. The duo also worked on McCann’s epic Sony Mobile TV spot, directed by Tarsem Singh and set to David Bowie’s Sound And Vision. They have also created a series of MasterCard idents for the Uefa Champions League coverage.

"They are blessed with a demonic sense of humour, a Calvinist work ethic, German efficiency and Spanish flair," McCann’s chief creative officer, Rob Doubal, says. "This terrifying combination means that they are constantly presenting really interesting work. They have a bright future ahead of them."
