Chemistry makes double digital and IT swoop

LONDON - Chemistry has acquired new-media agency PDG Graphics and IT media company Bearpark Publishing for an undisclosed amount.

PDG has been bought to enhance Chemistry's digital offering and will be rebranded as Chemistry Digital. It has a business-to-business client list including Avaya, Experian and Pipex, and more than 30 employees.

Bearpark produces technical magazines and conferences for professional software developers. It also owns and runs the DevWeek conference for software developers, database administrators and IT architects.

Joe Garton, chief executive of Chemistry, said: "For the group, it will mean that just over a third of its business is now digitally based and its strong digital teams in London and Nottingham will considerably strengthen Chemistry's capabilities in meeting growing client needs for new-media services.

"Chemistry has always been strong in the technology sector and the addition of Bearpark Publishing considerably strengthens our capabilities in the IT arena in terms of publishing and content creation."
