Chaplin departs Good Housekeeping after 18 years

LONDON - Maggie Chaplin, advertising manager of the National Magazine Company's Good Housekeeping, is retiring after 18 years in the role.

Chaplin, one of the longest-serving members at the flagship mature women's title, has been with Nat Mags for 21 years. She is taking early retirement to spend more time with her husband in their house in Cyprus.

"I am going to a new life but I will always look back on my time here with the fondest of memories," she said.

Ben Giles, currently promotions manager for Nat Mags' women's home and lifestyle division, is stepping up to replace Chaplin.

Good Housekeeping publishing director Chris Hughes said the magazine was "losing a legend".

He said: "Good Housekeeping's success is in no small part due to Maggie and the depth of affection demonstrated by her client and agency contacts since the announcement of her retirement is testament to this."
