Channel 4 confirms Shennan start date

LONDON - Former BBC Radio 5 Live controller Bob Shennan is set to take up his new role as director of radio at Channel 4 in April.

In December, Channel 4 announced the appointment of Shennan to replace Nathalie Schwarz, who has been promoted to Channel 4’s board. He was the first key appointment made by the broadcaster’s radio division after it won the second national mulitplex licence.

Since then, Shennan has been on gardening leave, with Channel 4 negotiating with the BBC over a release from his contract. Mike Parker, Channel 4’s head of strategic sales, said that Shennan was expected to start in April.
