Following a review of the email marketing tools currently available in the UK, Carlson Marketing chose e-RM for its ability to integrate with Carlson's other software platforms.
Paul Sage, marketing technology manager for Carlson Marketing Group, said: "When we first started email marketing in 1999, we were not inspired by the email platforms available in the marketplace and therefore developed our own tool to deliver a stable and reliable service."
He added: "However, in 2002 when both the market and technology had developed, we realised that significant savings and enhanced functionality could be achieved for ourselves and our clients if we used an external supplier."
e-RM's service is provided through its proprietary Digital Marketeer and Dete-rmine technology.
Digital Marketeer manages and transmits the graphics-based email and SMS communications while Dete-rmine offers online reporting allowing the results of digital campaigns to be seen in real time by Carlson and its clients.
Mike Williams, chief executive of e-RM, said: "The ability to accurately capture and analyse customer data is absolutely key to any intelligent email or SMS campaign. We're delighted that Carlson Marketing has chosen to work with e-RM following such rigorous evaluation."
Carlson said that e-RM outperformed its competitors on all the key elements of the review, with the ability of clients being able to see the information in real-time was seen as key.
"A further reason for using e-RM was its ability to integrate with our customer database. Carlson is able to extract data from e-RM and then analyse it through our skilled data planning function, adding details of the email contact to the customer records we hold for our clients," Sage said.
