Shaw joins Carlson as European director

LONDON - Former EHS Brann European managing director John Shaw has joined Carlson Marketing in the new role of European development director.

Shaw will be responsible for overseeing the growth of the agency throughout Europe. However, his first task is to assume responsibility for the UK direct marketing business in the short-term.

In his first task, he will work alongside UK group managing director Frank McCusker, but Shaw will report directly to Carlson Marketing Group president for Europe and Asia Robert Janes.

According to Janes: "John's expertise and experience will also be of great value in a number of key client relationships. He will be responsible for clarifying and strengthening our relationship marketing proposition and developing this throughout Europe."

Shaw joined Brann Worldwide in 1998 as vice chairman and was made European managing director a year later. It was merged with EHS Realtime in 2000 by French advertising parent Havas to form EHS Brann.

Before joining Brann, Shaw was at Wunderman for nine years from 1988.
