Carlson moves creative to boost integration

LONDON - Carlson Marketing UK's group managing director, Frank McCusker, is leaving the agency as part of a reorganisation that will see 28 jobs axed and its creative department relocated to Bristol.

Jose Ferrao, the president of Carlson Marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, is leading the restructure. He explained that the redundancies will reduce the number of support staff at the agency.

He added that he wanted the agency to offer a more integrated creative product. As a result, the creative department is relocating to Bristol, where its digital agency Carlson Digital is based, and the two departments will be merged.

Ferrao said the agency is now looking for a managing director to concentrate on the day-to-day running of the UK agency, rather than operations, which was McCusker's role. The agency is also looking to bolster its planning department.

Carlson has three sites; in Bristol, London and Northamptonshire. It is currently defending its Citroen account in a pitch against Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw, WWAV Rapp Collins and Iris.
