Carbon Trust to roll out branding push

LONDON - The Carbon Trust is poised to hire a lead advertising agency for a branding campaign to raise the profile of the government-funded body.

The agency, which advises businesses and the public sector on reducing carbon emissions, is to issue a brief at the end of this week to its roster of newly appointment advertising agencies: WCRS, VCCP and RKCR/Y&R.

The brief will challenge agencies to devise a 12-month campaign drawing attention to the work undertaken by the trust.

The budget for the campaign is undisclosed, but a source familiar with the situation said it would be "significant".

The Carbon Trust has been allocated £50m for its advertising and communications roster, which was completed earlier this week with the creation of its advertising roster.

Prior to this, the agency appointed MRM Worldwide, Ogilvy Interactive, Tequila\London and WDMP to its digital roster.

The agency has also appointed EdwardsGroomSaunders, Manning Gottlieb OMD and Media Planning to its media planning roster.
