Matchcode International's address matching coverage has been expanded from 19 to 240 countries through extensive new partnerships with European data provider Uniserv and more importantly, Platon Technologies, which is known to most marketers by the Address Doctor name.
The new improvements further refine mis-spellings and will add fields not given at the original data input stage. In addition, elements that appear to be wrong will be identified and corrected.
Matchcode International for Germany, for example, now covers 99.5% of all German addresses with street-level information.
Jonathan Patterson, sales manager at Capscan International Division, said: "Not all countries share the same standards, so the level of data is not universal, and for some countries we have all the information that is available.
"The key, though, is that it recognises different scripts -- Roman and Japanese for instance -- and includes new countries such as New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore and Hong Kong, all of which are now available."
Marketers can choose to buy Matchcode either by region or by individual country.
UK Matchcode data has been enhanced with National Land & Property Gazetteer information.
In another development, Capscan and Ebiquita have announced a partnership to launch an online data cleansing, suppression and enhancement service called Capscan Integrity.
It is available to customers from Capscan's or via a link from Matchcode on the user's desktop.
The companies claim that the service processes data using significantly more suppression files than competing products.
Andy Taylor, Ebiquita managing director, said "We believe Capscan Integrity will prove to be the benchmark and our early testing against competitor products confirms this. The match rates will be higher, the free initial report is far more accurate becauseit gives precise details of the match rate rather than an estimate, and it gives access to a greater number of suppression files."
