The newly created board role will see Stoddart take responsibility for the strategic direction, management and growth of the firm's venue finding and events business.
Stoddart has 20 years' experience in the industry, having delivered large and experiential events within the automotive, finance, IT and healthcare sectors.
He said he plans to "unlock" Capita's potential to enhance the customer experience. "I can clearly see Capita Travel and Events’ energy and focus on bridging the gap between customers’ creative teams and procurement to deliver impactful meetings and events with effective budgetary control and supply chain management," he commented.
"We have the talent to bring agility and creativity to experiential events and the knowledge and technology to reduce resources and costs involved in booking company-owned office space and small meetings venues. By optimising these, customers truly get the best of both worlds and I intend to unlock Capita Travel and Events’ true potential in meetings and events," he continued.
Paul Boyle, chief executive officer, Capita Travel and Events, said: "As our meetings and events business continues to grow, we have created a board position that reflects the importance of its continued success to our customers and our business. As a people-focused professional with vast experience, Paul is ideally placed to help deliver our vision in meetings and events and position us as a leader this sector."
