The two-year agreement, estimated to be worth between £40m and £50m, will provide central government departments, their arms-length bodies and the wider public sector, with event services.
Capita Travel and Events has been awarded a position in both categories, known as lot. Lot one covers events planning, management and delivery in the UK and overseas and lot two covers audio visual equipment, services, design and integration.
Making the most of public sector’s buying power, the agreement allows departments to access the services they need quickly and easily, providing a platform to work strategically with new and different suppliers to drive greater savings.
Anita Lowe, director of meetings and events, Capita Travel and Events, said: "As the lead agency on many strategic meetings and events programmes for UK and international organisations, we’ve worked with multiple suppliers to deliver creative and value based events. We’re also a contracted provider of choice for public sector travel management services, with decades of expertise in overcoming public sector challenges and achieving efficiencies."
She added that the agreement could see the agency working on everything from public sector event design and production, venue sourcing, delegate management, return on investment valuation and financial management, to the design of bespoke audio visual systems, event broadcasting and live video streaming, webcasting and multi-site video-conferencing.
