Callaway Golf markets driver offer through Claydon Heeley

LONDON – Callaway Golf is offering 100% money back to customers who buy one of its drivers if its ambassador Phil Mickelson wins the 2005 US Masters.

The "If Phil wins, you win" promotion gives golfers a reason to buy Callaway's Big Bertha Titanium 454 driver before March 30, and register their details with the equipment maker, by promising to give them back the money they spend on the driver.

The promotion has been marketed by Claydon Heeley Jones Mason with press, online, and point of sale advertising and by email to Callaway Golf's customer database.

Chas Sharp, marketing manager at Callaway Golf, said: "This is a win-win situation for our customers. Not only will they get a fantastic driver that hits the ball a long way but if Phil wins (and he's got a great chance), they will get it for free. We believe this promotion will drive sales and entertain golfers at the same time."

When golfers buy the driver they will be given a "Good Luck Phil" greetings card and an "I'm backing Phil" rosette for their car windows. The card encourages them to register their new driver .

The tournament will be played from April 4-10 and Mickelson, currently number four in the world, is aiming to retain his title.

If he wins, buyers can claim their money back by returning their completed greetings card and enclosing their receipt.
