White's appointment comes as the agency's data division works on a new loyalty methodology and follows new-business wins including Mercedes' direct business worth £10m and Egg's £30m account.
Nigel Jones, chief executive of Claydon Heeley Jones Mason, said: "Hiring Nick is a coup for the agency. His years of client-side experience, developing loyalty programmes with brands like Texaco and Fitness First, will add a dimension to our offering that will set us further apart from our competition."
As well as the recent wins, the agency also has a place on the Unilever relationship marketing roster and the COI's direct roster. Other relevant clients White could find himself involved with include Callaway Golf and Sony PlayStation.
According to White: "There aren't many agencies who would hire someone with pure client-side experience. Claydon Heeley's outlook is refreshingly accommodating."
