Launching on 15 July, Sky Side was created to give children an engaging experience at the airport before they go on holiday.
The free Sky Side experience, which will run throughout the summer, starts when the child arrives at check-in where they are given a 12-page Sky Pass with activities to complete to earn their ‘wings’ and help them become a Sky Cadet.
At the end of the task, participants will end up in the Sky Zone - an interactive area filled with touchscreen tables, light beams and story-telling pods.
Jane Maguire, director of The Business, said: "The key to success for this concept is recognising that entertainment for kids is no longer just about soft-play and ball pools.
"Sky Side will capture youngsters’ imaginations and bring entertainment into the 21st century, by engaging their minds in a unique, sensory experience - whille fusing with the airport's busy operation."
Jo Lloyd, Birmingham Airport’s marketing director, added: "Customer service is a key business objective for us and we know that to offer great customer service, consideration needs to be given to all passengers – young people and adults."
