Burger King takes on 'polygameat' in TV campaign

LONDON - Burger King has launched a television ad campaign for its Meat Beast Whopper with a tongue-in-cheek take on polygamy.

The "polygameat" campaign designed by Crispin Porter &  Bogusky hits UK airwaves tonight on a variety of networks and features a man shielding his Meat Beast Whopper from a group of sign-wielding, slogan-chanting protesters.

The group, mainly women, are all seemingly outraged by the thought of men eating the multiple meats (three in total, including beef, bacon and pepperoni) found in the new Meat Beast Whopper.

The commercial ends with a television news reporter asking "Polygameat, should it be illegal or should it be lunch? You decide."

The seven-week campaign, also shown on PubTV, introduces the latest burger in a stream of 30 and 10 second ads and is supported by point of sale activity in-restaurant .

Sarah Power, marketing director of Burger King in the UK and Ireland, said: "We're continuously leading the way with the best quality burgers on the high street and the new limited edition Meat Beast Whopper is no exception."

"In true Burger King style, we've created this new addition to our menu to satisfy the hunger of meat-lovers everywhere."

The Meat Beast Whopper is priced at £3.49.
