Feetbeat will take place across the eight regions in the UK served by the Capital FM network -- London, Brighton, Birmingham, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Kent, Oxford and Edinburgh. Each run will be launched simultaneously across the UK on May 18.
This is the first time the radio group has staged an event of this size spanning its entire Capital FM network.
Bupa is paying a six-figure sum, which will help Capital raise its minimum target of £2m for the charity. As part of the deal, Bupa will be involved in a number of on- and off-air events aimed at raising the profile of Feetbeat and attracting entries.
The sponsorship will allow the brand to raise its profile across the UK, on a local level.
Eileen Folan, Bupa brand and planning director, said: "The sponsorship of Feetbeat is a great fit with Bupa's current brand positioning as the 'personal health service' and will enable us to reinforce our health and medical credentials. Bupa works in more than 300 communities in the UK and we hope Feetbeat will raise a significant amount to support local children's charities."
