British Gas is returning to the scheme after a short break. Rival utility brand E.On took over in October 2010, hand delivering the box to around 20,000 households each month on the recipients' moving day.
The box contains a range of essential household items. It has been redesigned for its new sponsor and now carries imagery from British Gas's ad campaign.
Incentives offered through the box include £150 off a new energy efficient boiler, 25% off a new front door lock and up to 3,000 Nectar points for customers who sign up to British Gas energy and its HomeCare 100 policy.
Other brands that provide products or offers for the Home Move Box include John Lewis, Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, Wickes, B&Q, Clipper Tea and Screwfix.
E.ON was the first Home Move Box sponsor to make follow-up calls to its recipients and British Gas will continue to do the same.
The utility company has also formed a partnership with Sainsbury's Energy, which was previously tied up with EDF Energy, in January, in September 2010.
In October 2010 the company hired Procter & Gamble executive Adrian Camp as head of partnerships.
