British Gas appoints Landor to branding assignment

Landor will join British Gas' roster of lead agencies, which includes CHI & Partners, OgilvyOne and Carat. Its initial brief is to review British Gas' current strategy and increase consumer focus.

Last month, British Gas repositioned itself as a green energy company with a TV ad campaign. To support this shift, the company is investing £1.5bn in wind farms over five years from 2007. One of these sites is the world's biggest offshore wind farm project, and was completed by British Gas at the end of 2008.

Parent company Centrica plans to invest a total of £750m in sustainable energy.

British Gas has also appointed Dean Keeling as brand director. Keeling joins from Procter & Gamble, where he held the position of associate marketing director.
