Dunham will not be directly replaced. Chief commercial officer Adam Daniels will appoint a head of marketing, reporting to him, with head of loyalty Rob McDonald filling the role on an interim basis.

Some of Dunham’s other responsibilities will be handed to a new head of digital.

Dunham began her current role in February 2015 amid a reshuffle that brought marketing under the remit of the then chief commercial officer, Andrew Crawley.

Meanwhile, BA’s head of content and marketing operations, Amanda Phillips, is leaving after nine months to join Jaguar Land Rover as general manager, demand creation – a global marketing position.
