Brightcove signs deal with Hachette Filipacchi

LONDON - Brightcove, the internet TV provider, has announced a partnership with publisher Hachette Filipacchi to roll out internet video channels for its magazines.

The first channel to launch, ELLE Magazine's ELLEUK.com, will feature daily internet video coverage focused on fashion events, beauty and style tips and travel stories.

Brightcove currently provides an online TV platform for media companies including IPC Media, Emap and Sony BMG UK.

As reported in Media Week, the company recently announced the launch of its UK operations and the opening of an office in London.

The firm, founded in 2004, was a pioneer in the development of Internet TV and is now responsible for the provision of many firm's online video presence. The move to London is a bid to increase the company's presence in Europe and open up new opportunities in the region.

Brightcove raised $82 million from investors including AOL/Time Warner, The New York Times Company, IAC/InteractiveCorp and The Hearst Corporation. The company now hopes to invest in its European operations to service its growing database of media programmer customers.
